The mission of KIPP Sankofa Charter School is to provide educationally undeserved students with the knowledge, skills and, character needed to succeed in top quality high schools, colleges, and the competitive world beyond. KIPP Sankofa Charter School is currently serving 5th - 7th grade students. However, in July 2006, 8th grade will be offered. KIPP is a free public charter school. Students are not required to take any kind of examinations that qualify them for acceptance. By attending, students spend approximately 67% more time in school. The school hours are: 7:30AM - 5:00PM Monday through Thursday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM on Friday, 9:00AM – 1:00PM every other Saturday and three weeks during the summer.
